The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4MATIC+ EQ has been spotted, and it’s expected to be a beast. A silent one.

An AutoNotion photographer recently caught some images of the new Mercedes-Benz GLA on the road. Under the camouflage, we saw a more aggressive version of the nimble and sporty SUV. This includes redesigned front and rear bumpers, sharper side skirts, a sportier diffuser, and new wheels. It looks quite mean and ready to pounce.

However, the real story is what’s inside. Or, well, not inside.

What we sorta know about the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4MATIC+ EQ

The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4MATIC+ EQ will be fully electric (with various hybrid variants coming later). But that doesn’t mean the new aggressive look is just for show; if anything, we expect the new Mercedes-AMG GLA to be even more powerful and capable than ever.

We don’t know the powertrain specifics just yet, but rumors suggest it will be a dual-motor setup with 400 kilowatts. This means it will have more than 500 horsepower — maybe 536 brake horsepower and 544 metric horsepower. If this turns out to be true, it has way more power than the current GLA 45 and 45 S, which have 382 hp and 416 hp, respectively. And if this is all true, the new Mercedes-AMG GLA may hit 60 miles per hour in under 4 seconds. Not too shabby for a heavy-ish SUV.

But okay, you know me: I don’t really care about the 0-60, especially for EVs. It’s sort of a given at this point. But the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4MATIC+ EQ will be more than just quick. There are rumors of an upgraded chassis that would lower the vehicle closer to the ground and make it stiffer, significantly improving handling and cornering. There may also be better brakes. To drive home this improved performance, there are also claims of bucket seats in the front and a few other cabin features that will make this new model stand out from the current (slower) models.

As you can tell, this is a lot of ifs, maybes, and speculations. Not much is known about the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4MATIC +EQ, which may not be here until 2028. We don’t know the price either. Hell, this may not even be its actual name! So not much is known, but this vehicle is part of AMG’s electric push. Remember, the 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT EV is on its way as well. These are electric vehicles you don’t wanna mess with. They’re more powerful and more aggressive than ever.
