Ford has paired up with fellow Detroit icon Carhartt to produce a special edition of the 2027 Super Duty. The company\u2019s XLT Crew Cab single-rear-wheel pickups are set to have the option of a Super Duty Carhartt Package which adds a good amount of the workwear manufacturer\u2019s styling to Ford\u2019s trucks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Styling tweaks include a darkened grille and body-color bumpers, with the Carhartt logo added to the fender vents. Textured Carhartt graphics also appear on the doors and tailgate. A \u201cToughbedd\u201d spray-in bedliner has been added to the truck, and also features the Carhartt logo.<\/p>\n

So if you turn up at the job site, you may be able to boast a bit of extra durability and mud protection. Just like your Carhartt jacket and hat. The vehicle comes with a set of textured off-road running boards too, to help ease you in and out of it.<\/p>\n

The 20-inch rims it sits on have been uniquely machined and painted, with a set of LT275\/65R20E BSW all-terrain tires fitted afterwards. Ford claims the unique design of the wheels is based on a Detroit manhole cover — an idea the company\u2019s design team had while standing outside a Carhartt store in the city.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot of upgraded LED lighting on the truck too, including a roof marker, clearance lamps, and a center high-mounted stop lamp.<\/p>\n

The Carhartt styling isn\u2019t limited to the Ford Super Duty\u2019s exterior. The upholstery is coated in Carhartt\u2019s signature \u201cduck canvas\u201d and uses the same triple stitching as the company\u2019s workwear. In addition to the obvious aesthetic benefits, the stitching adds durability and reinforces the seams in the seat coverings.<\/p>\n

Carhartt\u2019s commercial-grade canvas has an \u201coiled walnut\u201d feel and is treated for high abrasion resistance. The fabric is designed to repel soil and liquid too, so don\u2019t worry about climbing into the truck while plastered in mud or spilling one of those borderline buckets of coffee places like Dunkin sell all over the place. The trim should be tough enough to take it.<\/p>\n

Premium all-weather floor mats are also included. The mats are designed to parallel Carhartt\u2019s latest tool bags. The vehicles overall color palette (both inside and out) was chosen to mimic dirt, grit, and wear. So again, don\u2019t worry about getting it a bit muddy, scuffed up, and coffee stained. It\u2019s a well-used work jacket on wheels.<\/p>\n

Pricing for the package hasn\u2019t been announced yet, though some exterior colors will cost more than others and it will all cost a lot more than some other trucks Ford is working on<\/a>.
