Before publication, a named editor checks each figure, date, quote and claim against a primary source: the manufacturer&#8217;s own spec sheet, the agency&#8217;s own filing, the operator&#8217;s own technical documentation. When a fact cannot be traced to a primary source, we attribute it explicitly or we leave it out.<\/p>\n    <p>One technical note, because it is becoming relevant across publishing. AI providers have started embedding invisible watermarks in text their models process. A detected watermark shows that a piece of text passed through an AI system at some point, which can mean during translation, editing or fact-checking. It does not show who reported the story, or whether anyone verified it. We publish this policy so our process is on the record rather than inferred from a detector.<\/p>\n    <p>If you think we have published something inaccurate, tell us.
